The Astrologer, Student Work

Cela m’a pris un peu de temps, mais je vous présente ci-dessous mon projet de fin d’année, réalisé sur le thème de Constantinople au XIVe siècle.

Nous devions respecter une contrainte de level design : une zone de déplacement composée de deux plateformes carrées reliées par un escalier. Il fallait ensuite décorer tout l’environnement autour de cette structure.
J’ai choisi de mettre en scène le métier d’astrologue, car j’ai toujours été fasciné par les étoiles.
Vous pourrez découvrir plusieurs éléments, dont des cartes comportant de véritables inscriptions, un ciel particulièrement étoilé, ainsi qu’une animation d’armillaire fonctionnelle (chaque anneau suit réellement le mouvement des autres).

Pour finir, je dois dire que ce projet a été très enrichissant, notamment en voyant le résultat final prendre forme.

Hello everyone,
It took me a bit of time, but I’m proud to present my end-of-year project, based on the theme of 14th-century Constantinople.

We had to follow a specific level design constraint: a movement area made up of two square platforms connected by a staircase. The goal was then to decorate the entire surrounding environment.
I chose to focus on the profession of an astrologer, as I’ve always been fascinated by the stars.
You’ll find several elements in the scene, including maps with actual writing, a richly starry sky, and an animated armillary sphere that is functional in real life (each ring moves in coordination with the others).

To conclude, I must say this project was a truly rewarding experience, especially seeing the final result come together.
